This sequel is a whodunit for fans of my debut novel, but this is no cozy mystery--it's about real life on the streets of South Brooklyn in 1970.
There was a murder in the debut novel, and then another in the opening of this sequel. A Catholic priest, Ed, and a homophobic bartender, Otto, need to find out who killed them before a third happens. Both murders happen in the Coney Island train yards in the same bizarre fashion, but months apart and also during a party at the Polish Eagle Tavern. Why go to all that trouble?
Ed and Otto can't go to the local police. They're also dealing with some very interested mobsters who want to know who killed their employees. No one cares about justice.
